CANCELLED NHRA SUMMIT ET SERIES CANCELLED
April 4, 2020$20
Summit ET Series for Saturday April 4th has been cancelled, the next date will be Saturday May 16th. Based on recent guidance it looks like we’ll be “shut down” throughout the rest of April but with the hopes of being able to do something this month we will be taking things week by week instead of wiping the whole month off the schedule so… stay tuned! -ECD
NHRA Blue Collar Brackets w/High Roller Side Pot. Join us at Emerald Coast Dragway with your 2020 ET racing plans, our program is aimed at the local racer seeking an affordable family fun racing environment that you can rely on while still offering an alternative for those looking to race for bigger purses. Listed below are 8 points race dates as well as the potential Division 2 finals date that we’d love to send a team to compete at. As of the time of this document being published (25 November 2019) the below dates do not conflict with local ET programs at Atmore, Montgomery, Powerhouse or even Gulfport with their King of the Coast and IHRA Summit ET series dates. Once finalized, this program will be set in stone on dates, entry fee & purse structure as well as race format, so mark your calendar & look forward to a great year of racing at the Emerald Coast Dragway.
January 11 February 22 April 4 May 16 June 20 July 4 (single race day accompanying outlaw pro mods) August 22 September 26 ECD FINALS (WALLY RACE) October 10 NHRA DIV 2 FINALS (DATE/LOC. The 2nd race of the day will get one time shot then into eliminations. First or second round buybacks time permitting. Super Pro ET $60, $30 buy backs. Pro ET $50, $25 buy backs. Sportsman ET $40, $20 buy backs. JR Dragster ET $30, $15 buy backs. Payout purse structure will be 100% payback, up to 16 entries pays 2 spots, between 16 and 32 entries pays 4 spots, beyond 32 entries pays 8 spots. At up to 16 entries, the winner and runner up will split the purse 70/30. At 16-32 entries the semi finalists will get their entry fee back and the winner and runner up will split the remaining purse 70/30. Beyond 32 entries the quarter finalists will get their entry fee back, semi finalists will get double their entry fee back and the winner and runner up will split the remaining purse 70/30. An example of this would be Pro ET with 18 cars, total purse is $900, the semi finalists will get $50 back each, runner up gets $240 while winner takes home $560. Aside from the standard entry fee and purse, there will be an optional last racer standing high roller side pot purse. This can be entered when purchasing your tech card at the gate or in the tower prior to first round eliminations. Entry fee is equal to the entry fee for the class being contested and is paid in full to the last remaining racer that entered the side pot. The side pot has no effect on points and does not have to be entered for both daily races. Any racer who enters a race in the 2020 Summit ET Series will automatically be enrolled into the points series. Champions will be crowned with championship jackets and 2021 ECD Gold Cards, we will also have plenty of trophies and big checks along the way as well as a chance at representing ECD at the 2020 NHRA Division 2 Summit ET Series Finals in October. An entry is considered “in the race” if an appropriate tech card is turned in at tech inspection and the car has crossed the line into the burnout box, at this point & time show up points will be awarded and the entry fee will be added to the race day purse and can not be refunded. An exception to this rule is if the entry is unable to make the call to the 2nd race of the day due to an issue that arises during the 1st race of the day. Entry refunds or a clean tech card to use at the next Summit ET series race are available at race control in the tower. We look forward to racing with you at the Emerald Coast Dragway in 2020, if you have any questions, comments, concerns or even any input that could better the program we are all ears, contact us via email or by messaging us on social media or you can even call/text our track phone at 850-603-3991.
